Free Library of Northampton Township – Gateway to summer adventures for all ages

Engage the mind and have fun at the library this summer!  On June 17th, Summer Quest begins – preschoolers through teens can pick up a Summer Reading log and choose a free book.

Read for 25 days this summer and enter to win a gift card to the Newtown Book Shop! Checkout the library’s calendar of children’s events on the web page: www.northamptontownshiplibrary.org. Something stupendous happens every day!

On Mondays, beginning June 19th from 10:00am to noon, kids can attempt the “Weekly Computer Lab D. I. Y. Challenge” (grades 2+) and solve the coding puzzle.

Also on Mondays, join the “Summer Chess Club for Kids” (grades 3+) 2:00 to 4:00pm, and play chess or other board games.

Become the next Picasso on Tuesdays starting June 20th at 10:00-11:30am, in the library’s “Kids Art Lab” (grades K-6).

Then, on Wednesdays beginning June 21st, 2:00-4:00pm, use your imagination and create in “LEGO Master Builder” – all ages welcome.  What would summer be without reading?

“Summer Stories” is a story time for all ages on Mondays and Thursdays beginning the week of June 19th, 10:30am and lasting all summer!

The library is on the wild side Tuesday, June 27th at 6:30pm, as they host the program “Eyes of the Wild.” Learn about various animals and their lives in the wild – all ages!

If movies are more of your interest, then visit on Wednesday morning, June 28th at 10:00am for a screening of the animated movie “The Bad Guys” (rated PG).

Adults can find stimulating library events all summer too. On Saturday, June 10th at 1:00pm, Norm Rubin presents “The History of Unions” – learn the good and the bad of this institution.
