Sports Connection is a longtime dream-come-true for store owner, and longtime sports card collector, John Calvecchio. Together with his wife Jessica, Sports Connection began online in 2007. The business continued to grow in 2015 with Facebook.
“Card Breaks” started to become popular online and Sports Connection dove in headfirst.
They developed relationships with customers all over the world, by selling spots, and opening cases of sports cards live online and recording “the break.” The couple opened their Chalfont store in June 2020. They feared the worst during the pandemic.
Ironically, nostalgia set in, and many former card collectors fell back in love with their childhood hobby. What once was a small community and thought to be a child’s hobby was now featured on mainstream media and financial networks.
Sports Connection is a place where collectors can buy, sell or consign cards. They are an authorized retailer with all the card manufacturers and PSA, the industry leader for getting your cards professionally graded.
Appraisal services, birthday parties and trade nights are also available. In 2021, the Doylestown store opened.
The store isn’t as large as Chalfont, but its boutique feel offers exclusive high-end sneakers, like Air Jordans, Nike Dunks and Yeezys and the latest trends in streetwear that you see your favorite athletes and celebrities wearing. Both stores offer licensed jerseys and apparel.
Doylestown also offers the new sports card releases, single cards and packs like Chalfont. The Holiday sales and promotions will begin on Black Friday including their “Go Birds” Special Promotion.
Customers who spend $400 or more between November 24th and December 24th will get a FULL REFUND if the “Birds” win the Big Game! Sports Connection is located at 38 W. Oakland Avenue, Doylestown and 414 Town Center, New Britain.
