For Crying Out Loud, Don’t Believe Everything You Hear…

I had to start with this quote because we’re finding it to be quite true. Jay Thompson, Real Estate Industry Consultant, explains it this way…
“Housing market headlines are everywhere. Many are quite sensational, ending with exclamation points or predicting impending doom for the industry. Clickbait, the sensationalizing of headlines and content, has been an issue since the dawn of the internet, and housing news is not immune to it.”
That’s why working with a seasoned, local agent, who is serious enough about this business to do it full time is critical. One that specializes in YOUR local market, not one who “Specializes in Bucks and Montgomery Counties”. Or adds Philadelphia in there for good measure.
I mean really, how to you “specialize” in the tri-county area? The reality is you can’t. Not effectively anyway.
The fact of the matter is that there still are not enough homes to sell. Prices have not dropped significantly and those in good condition are still being fought over. Sellers can still realize prices near the top of the market.
It is also a fact that interest rates are up, but most are predicting not forever. So “date the rate and marry the house”. In other words, bite the bullet now and refinance when rates come down. Lenders are getting creative in helping you do just that.
