Please join Friends of Lake Afton (FOLA) for their third annual pop-up gift shop called ALL THINGS YARDLEY GIFT SHOP on Saturday, December 16th from 2:00-5:00pm, at the Yardley Community Center on S. Main Street (64 S. Main Street in Yardley Borough).
FOLA will be selling unique gifts pertaining to Yardley, Lake Afton and Friends of Lake Afton. Buy a gift for someone special or for yourself!
All proceeds from purchases are donated to FOLA to take care of Lake Afton, Yardley’s town jewel. Last December was FOLA’s second annual pop-up gift shop.
If you went last year, you saw 14 tables full of items. This year they will have everything that they had last year plus MORE! You’ll find gifts for all ages, from toddlers to adults.
There will be Yardley ornaments, puzzles, matching games, aprons, pot-holders, dish towels, totes, wine bags, coffee mugs, license plates, magnets, toiletry bags, makeup bags and more!
FOLA, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has been taking care of Lake Afton since 1969 for the public’s enjoyment and for the benefit of the wildlife that live in and depend on Lake Afton for shelter, food and water. The majority of the funds raised every year are used to pay for the expensive algae treatments that Lake Afton requires every year between April and November.
The treatments are safe, made of biological products including bacteria and enzymes, and cost FOLA close to $15,000 every year. Routine care and maintenance costs an additional $3,000 – $5,000 each year.
