Rachel Herway of Yardley, Lindsey Kenworthy of Yardley, Tapiwanashe Manhede of Fairless Hills and Kelci Sonnon of Yardley were all recently awarded Allen R. Leichter Memorial Scholarships.  They were each awarded $500 dollar scholarships and a $100 dollar gift certificate for Allen’s Camera at the Pennsbury’s Senior Academic Awards Ceremony on May 30th.

Senior photography students vying for the scholarship had to have a minimum GPA of 3.2 and submit three of their most creative pictures along with a paragraph of how they got into photography.

Allen Leichter was the owner and operator of Allen’s Camera, a company founded in 1977 when he was 23-years-old, which he developed into a successful business. Allen is deeply missed by his wife Shari, sons Aaron, Brandon, his mother Shirley, siblings, Warren, Mark and Liz, his family, friends, customers, staff and his pup Brooklyn.

Shari says, “Allen will forever be in all of our hearts, which is why we have this scholarship in his name.”

Thank you to Rachel, Kelci, Lindsey and Tapiwanashe for carrying on Allen’s legacy and for keeping [his] memory alive!
