Happy Earth Month!

Meet Kona Compost, your local woman-owned compost pick-up service providing Bucks County residents, businesses, offices and schools an easy way to keep their food scraps out of the landfill.

Kona Compost was founded by Heather Guidice in 2019 with a mission to make composting easy, accessible and fun all while giving back to our planet and keeping our environment healthy. Kona Compost collects food scraps which are then turned into compost and returned back to customers to use in their own gardens or they can elect to donate their compost share to a community garden instead.

Why should you compost?

The answer is quite simple, food waste doesn’t belong in the landfill. It’s a resource that can be turned into a nutrient dense amendment for gardens helping to build soil and reduce the need to use fertilizer. When food waste is thrown out, it does not break down and instead creates the greenhouse gas, methane, which is harmful to the environment.

Rooted in community, Kona Compost helps reduce your carbon footprint and creates a sustainable future one bucket of food scraps at a time. Join the hundreds of households on the journey to a greener future by signing up to begin composting.

It’s easy, convenient and supports a local business. If you’re a business in the area, office or school, composting is a valuable way to lead the charge on sustainability.

Visit www.konacompost.com to get started, follow along on Facebook and Instagram @konacompost, or visit us in person at one of the upcoming Wrightstown, Yardley or Perkasie Farmer’s Markets this season.
