A meeting of the Washington Crossing Chapter SAR will be held on May 18, 2024,
from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm in the auditorium at the Washington Crossing Historic Park – Visitor Center.
This will be our fifth SAR Application Workshop, the second held in the auditorium at Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Visitor Center at 1112 River Road Washington Crossing, PA. Do you know you have a patriot ancestor or do you think you have a patriot ancestor? Come join us for a 30-minute presentation, a question and answer session and an opportunity to visit the Revolutionary War Museum at the Visitor Center. Arrive at 1PM and stay as long as you wish.
Chapter Genealogist/Registrar Ed Elgart will discuss the SAR membership application process including:
- Current qualification process for membership
- “Dos and don’ts” of documenting a membership and genealogy package
- Discuss what genealogical evidence is currently permissible
- Provide important contact and resource information
- Present fee structure for single application
- Address your specific questions
If you are in the application process, we HIGHLY encourage you to attend! This event will be extremely helpful. If you are already a member, please plan on attending so that you can encourage our applicants and become acquainted with the latest application and genealogy processes.
The Washington Crossing Historic Park Visitor Center is at the location where General George Washington and 2,500 troops crossed the Delaware River on Christmas evening 1776, prior to the Battle of Trenton. This event initiated the “ten crucial days” what many believe was the turning point in the war, setting the Patriots on a course to victory over the British.
