Langhorne Pet Fair is May 11th

The Rotary Club of Langhorne will present, for the second year, the Langhorne Pet Fair on Saturday, May 11th from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the “Mayors Playground,” located at Routes 213 and 413 in Langhorne. There will be fun for the entire family featuring a canine agility course, an exotic animal show, a pet blessing, animal rescue groups, kid’s activities, food, and more than 50 vendors with a variety of pet-related goods and crafts.

The event will be capped off with a parade of pets and owners at 2:30pm.

There will also be plenty of contests and prizes to participate in. Admission is free to all – all pets are welcome!

The Langhorne Rotary Student of the Month for April was Cynthia Holderer of Neshaminy High School.

Cynthia lives in Levittown with her parents Susan and Dave Holderer. She ranks eighth in her class of 636 students and is also involved with the spring track team and the swim team, as well as being a member of the National Honor Society.

At the Langhorne Pet Fair on May 19th, Dave Carson, President of the Langhorne Rotary kicked of the 50th anniversary project of the club, an announcement sign to help all community non-profit organizations. The sign will be located off Route 213 and Flowers Mill Road, outside of Langhorne, and will be available for community and non-profit announcements.

On April 28th members of the Langhorne Rotary took part in a “Rotary at Work” project at the Mayor’s Playground in Langhorne. On this same date Rotary clubs throughout the world were involved in service projects in their local communities.

The Rotary Club of Langhorne meets each Thursday at 12:15pm at the Bella Tori at the Mansion on Bellevue Avenue in Langhorne for lunch and a program. Visitors are welcome.

LL Rotary1 The Rotary Club of Langhorne is presenting the Langhorne Pet Fair on Saturday, May 19th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the “Mayors Playground,” located at Routes 213 and 413 in Langhorne. Animal rescue groups, vendors with a variety of pet related goods, and food will be available. Contests, prizes, and many activities for your pets and the entire family will be featured. Admission is free to all.

The Student of the Month for March, Neshaminy High School senior Aiden Coleman, was recently honored by the Langhorne Rotary. Aiden ranks fourth in his class and is a member of a number of organizations, musical groups and copy editor of the school newspaper. He works with the American Red Cross, Aid for Friends, MLK drive and Habitat for Humanity. His other interests are soccer and playing classical piano.

On April 28th, the members of Langhorne Rotary will participate in a Rotary at Work project at the “Mayors Playground.” Throughout the world on this date Rotarians will be involved in projects in their community as a way of providing service to the community.

Three Neshaminy High School students participated on February 24th-26th in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), sponsored by Rotary, at the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. The students, Carolyn Crasnick, Emily Singer and Jasmin Theracan were invited to the Langhorne Rotary meeting on March 15th, along with Interact Advisor Suzi Drake, to report on what they felt was an excellent program on leadership, which will be of great benefit to the Interact club.

The Langhorne Rotary and the Feasterville Rotary sponsor the Interact Club at the Neshaminy High School. American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania selected the Neshaminy High School Interact Club and Adviser Suzi Drake as 2012 American Red Cross Heroes Award, Community Partner Hero. This award is presented to a community group, neighborhood organization or local company that consistently demonstrates a commitment to making a difference in the community.

The Real Heroes breakfast will be held May 2nd, at Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland. Registration is at 7:30am and the breakfast begins at 8:00am.

Langhorne Rotary February Student of the Month, Krista Pinkerton (right), and Bucks County Technical High School Assistant Principal, Henry DeGeorge.

On February 23rd the Rotary Club of Langhorne recognized Krista Pinkerton, a senior at the Bucks County Technical High School as the February Student of the Month. Krista is in the cosmetology program at the school and has been a distinguished honor student since her freshman year.

She is also an accomplished ballet dancer with the Dance Del Bello Company. Krista has been accepted at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and will be studying the art of ballet with the goal of becoming a member of a prominent ballet school.

The Langhorne Rotary was pleased to honor her as their Student of the Month and welcome Assistant Principal of the BCTHS, Henry DeGeorge.

At the regular Rotary club meeting on February 29th, Lisa Farrell, a Realtor with Keller Williams was inducted as their newest member. Lisa lives in Langhorne and was sponsored by Donna Thomas of Will Travel in Langhorne.

On Saturday, May 19th the Rotary Club will sponsor the Langhorne Pet Fair, to be held at the Mayor’s Playground at Routes 213 and 413 in Langhorne. The Fair will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

It will feature booths by non-profit organizations related to pets, as well as other vendors with crafts and supplies. There will be fun activities for kids, adults and pets, as well as food, games and prizes.
