Spotlight: J. Allen Hooper Funeral Home

The J. Allen Hooper Funeral Home, 41 W. Trenton Avenue, Morrisville, originally founded in 1923, has proudly been serving the area for 100 years. They are proud of the fact that they are the oldest continually operating family-owned funeral home in Lower Bucks County; in an age where there are so many corporate owned funeral homes in the area, J. Allen Hooper has been serving the area for 100 years.

They have recently been honored with the 2023 Best of Bucks Award for Funeral Homes. Steve Ullrich, just the third owner of the home since 2017 is proud of the longstanding of this family run business in the community. They currently serve Morrisville, Levittown, Yardley, and their surrounding areas.

Steve Ullrich is just the third owner in the Home’s 100-year history. Steve took over as owner in 2017. They are the only ones who give a free casket to veterans as a small thank you for their service. Steve is a member of the Knowles-Doyle American Legion Post #317, and he is aware of the sacrifice that our Veterans have made.

Some of the other special touches the family will receive are a tribute blanket of their loved one’s hobbies and passions, as well as a 16 X 11 portrait of the deceased. Care for families does not end when the funeral is over, they will follow the family even after the funeral is over.

As a longtime member of the community, J. Allen Hooper sponsors the yearly Ivins house golf tournament, Morrisville Little League (since 1955) including their yearly golf tournament, they also provide book covers for children at the Holy Trinity School.
