Spotlight: Altomonte’s

    Spring is a very special time at Altomonte’s! The Easter holiday brings lots of baking, cooking and celebrating the season.

    After 52 years the family-owned and operated business is still proud to continue traditions from the old-world, as always from scratch and homemade. At the top of the list is Easter bread, it’s a little sweet with hints of vanilla and citrus and the perfect way to break bread on Sunday morning.

    Their Easter catering menu is the perfect way to build your own brunch or dinner. With specialties from frittata, quiche and pizza rustica (the savory meat pie filled with Italian cured meats and cheeses) to lemon ricotta ravioli, gruyere scalloped potatoes, succulent lobster salad, rack of lamb and pineapple and brown sugar glazed ham there is something for everyone.

    You will want to leave room for dessert as well for once a year only treats like pastiera pie made with fragrant orange blossom water and whole grain.

    Also ever popular is the Ricotta pie, 24K carrot cake, gorgeous 3-D coconut lamb and bunny cakes filled with real chocolate mousse, and the absolute best coconut cream pie you will ever eat, made with luscious vanilla Italian cream, topped with real whipped cream.

    Altomonte’s will also have the finest quality Uova di Pasqua, while supplies last, these imported from Italy “Chocolate Easter Eggs” come in varying sizes, beautifully wrapped in mylar in milk or dark chocolate. Kids and adults alike love them!
