Annual Flag Memorial returning in June

The 38th Annual Jesse E. Hill Flag Memorial, presented by Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans, returns to Falls Township Community Park, 9050 Mill Creek Road in Levittown, the weekend of June 9th, 10th and 11th. The Memorial is an inspirational display of over 65,000 American flags in the shape and size of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC.

Each flag represents an American killed or a POW/MIA during the Vietnam War.  Also, there is an honorable display of over 5,000 flags in their Star of Honor Memorial for those brave soldiers lost in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and the Global War On Terror.

Each flag is planted in the ground by someone who cares.

The agenda for the weekend is as follows;

  • Friday, June 9th: Volunteers are needed to help plant flags starting at 9:00am;
  • Saturday, June 10th: Free concert & Day of Reflection, bands starting at noon;
  • Sunday, June 11th: Motorcycle rally starting at noon at American Legion 960, 1537 Woodbourne Road, Levittown. Ceremonies to follow arrival at the park. Repatriation Ceremony starting at 1:00pm. Volunteers needed to help pull flags after the ceremony.
