The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging provides quality services that support, respect and advocate for older adults age 60+ and their families. Our programs and services enable residents to remain in their homes as long as possible, keep them connected to the community and protect them from abuse and exploitation.
The Agency’s offerings include: information and referral to answer questions about services and resources available to seniors; health and wellness programs that support older adults in making lifestyle changes to improve health, cope with chronic illness and recognize health and safety risks both in- and outside the home; nutrition services, including home delivered meals, congregate meals and education; the annual Senior Games event; personalized counseling on Medicare insurance options and other issues (APPRISE), and financial assistance to pay Medicare and prescription drug insurance premiums; assistance with concerns about quality of services at adult day centers, assisted living and nursing care facilities (Ombudsman); subsidy for transportation by Bucks County Transport; employment referral; legal counseling; socialization and recreational activities available through its senior center partnerships; financial support for caregivers; and Long-Term Care services.
Long-Term Care services include: determining a person’s eligibility for adult day care, in-home care or nursing facility services; assisting in the development of care plans; coordinating in-home care services; and arranging for financial assistance for eligible consumers in need of adult day care, personal care tasks, adaptive equipment or home modifications.
Through its Protective Services unit the Agency investigates confidential reports of need for all adult victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation and abandonment.
