Northampton Township Parks and Recreation kicks off 2023 activities

Northampton Township Parks & Recreation is THE go-to for the best programs and value in the Township.

Offering a variety of programs, classes, camps, swim club, trips, special events, discount tickets, Parks & Recreation has something for everyone. The Recreation Center, located at 345 Newtown-Richboro Road, is a hub for most classes and programs. This indoor facility houses a multi-purpose area, dance room, art room, pre-school and classrooms.

An all-sport court surface accommodates basketball, floor and roller hockey, soccer, volleyball, and aerobics. The facility is available for party room and gym rentals.

The Civic Center, situated on Newtown-Richboro Road, includes soccer, football, baseball and softball fields with lighted tennis/pickleball and basketball courts as well as a playground behind the Recreation Center.

Additional sports fields are located at St. Leonard and Stoney Ford Roads. League use of fields is by permit only through the P&R Board, which meets on the first Thursday of the month.

The Banner program, where businesses can display banners on the field fences, benefit local sports teams and P&R field maintenance.

Northampton Municipal Park, known as the “Blue Park” by many, is situated at 281 Hatboro Road in Churchville.

It features a newly opened, all- inclusive playground, a variety of baseball and softball fields, Kenneth Wetzel pavilion, the Miracle League fields for special needs, three soccer fields, four basketball courts, in-line hockey rink, sand volleyball courts, playground, amphitheater, over three miles of walking/ running trails, picnic pavilions and informational kiosks.

The Butterfly Garden of Remembrance offers the community a place to honor the memory of a loved one. Picnic pavilions, roller hockey court and basketball courts are all available to rent.

During the summer months, a variety of highly popular summer camps are available for children ages preschool through teens. Camps are offered for 6 -7 weeks depending on the program, along with weekly specialty camps.

Parks & Recreation also offers a Monday through Friday Swim Club Membership at the Northampton Valley Country Club.

Amenities include a large main pool, baby pool, tables and chairs, locker facilities and special member events. Swim lessons and a swim team are also available.  

Both the camps and swim club are currently seeking to hire qualified staff. Applications can be found on the P&R website.

A quarterly brochure is mailed to all Township residents.
