Fallsington Library receives prestigious grant

The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, a PPA Partner through Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, has awarded a $2,000 matching grant to support Fallsington Library’s popular Science Meets Art program in 2023.

The library’s signature monthly program features unique themes that appeal to learners of all ages. Created by Fallsington Library Director Charlene Rendeiro, the fun and educational programs spur an early love of nature and STEAM principles, while celebrating the everyday wonder of the seasons, as well as the animals and wildlife sharing our world.

“We’re thrilled to receive this generous support from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance,” Charlene said. “Over the past 10 years, it’s been wonderful to see children, teens, and adults enjoy these interactive programs. We look forward to continuing to share the joy of science and art with our community.”

A regional partner of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, the Philadelphia Cultural Alliance assists the Council in evaluating proposals and distributing grant awards throughout Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. The program enables the Council to reach a wider audience by increasing access to funds for organizations and artists across the state, thereby increasing statewide audience exposure to arts activities.

Fallsington Library received an Entry to Program Steam grant, one of two types of grant awards available to organizations that support arts programs. Looking ahead, Fallsington Library’s Science Meets Arts program topics include “The Lure & Lore of Tea,” “All Things Squid,” “Da Vinci,” and “Dragon Workshop.”

All programs are free and open to the public. To ensure adequate space and craft supplies, guests can register in advance by visiting the Fallsington Library website.
