At Yardley United Methodist Church, we’ve identified several community organizations to which we financially contribute and/or provide hands-on help.
We “partner” with them because we value the work that they do to serve the needs of our greater community, and it becomes our mission to help them carry out their mission to the community. These “Community Partners” are: Penndel Food Pantry, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, A Woman’s Place, Bucks County Housing Group, Family Services of Bucks County, Grace Cafe at Arch Street UMC in Philadelphia, Family Promise of Bucks County, Welcoming The Stranger, Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need, and Snipes Farm and Education Center.
We want to extend the privilege of helping others to all in our community, so we invite you to join with us as we physically serve and financially support these organizations.
Financial contributions to any of these organizations can be made online, sent by mail or delivered to Yardley United Methodist Church at 300 Langhorne Road, to be included with the church’s donations to these organizations.
And, if you are interested in joining YUMC’s volunteers, please contact us by calling or e-mailing the Church Office for further information.
Current volunteer opportunities are: helping to serve the noontime meal at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen on the second Wednesday of each month, bringing non-perishable foods to the Penndel Food Pantry bin and the Blessings Box in the church’s parking lot, and joining the Weavers of Wellness in knitting or crocheting hats and scarves for homeless persons and others in need.
In December through March, there will be opportunities to serve at Code Blue, AHTN’s overnight housing for homeless persons. In this season of gift-giving, we are reminded that we can be a gift to each other and to all in our community by sharing ourselves and our resources.
Please check our website, www.yardleyumc.org for all ways to be in touch.
