    Quality care for Veterans

Our nation’s Veterans have put their lives on the line for freedom and deserve high-quality, dignified care. Long-term care can be expensive, but government-funded programs are available to qualified Veterans.

A pension benefit available through the VA, called Aid and Attendance, can help offset the cost of senior living, making The Birches at Newtown a perfect place to call home. At The Birches, our personal and memory care services are tailored to meet the diverse needs of each resident. Compassionate caregivers are readily available with a gentle helping hand to assist with daily tasks and medication management.

Outstanding on-site amenities ensure that everyone can enjoy a fulfilling retirement! Some of our community favorites include our exclusive FOX Optimal Living program, group outings, scheduled activities with interactive games, and weekly live entertainment.

While our plates are freshly prepared and satisfying, residents appreciate the nourishment of good conversations and companionship around their tables. It’s the feeling of belonging and camaraderie that Veterans appreciate!

Here, our mission is to provide a better quality of life and create opportunities for new friendships with like-minded peers. We have several Veterans who love living at The Birches, like U.S. Army Veteran Arthur Baisley. He participates in daily exercise classes and enjoys personalized attention from one-on-one therapy services.

“I feel great and have improved my strength thanks to FOX Optimal Living. I also like the happy hours, trivia games, and weekly shows; it is always a fun time,” he said.

Arthur was a soldier with the 87th Division, Company G. He was 18-years-old, working on a poultry farm when Uncle Sam called him to join the fight on the frontlines of World War II. He still reflects on those memories, and he proudly displays his collection of service medals in his apartment.
