There’s a lot of talk and advice out there about credit – credit cards, credit scores, credit history. But how exactly does it impact your financial wellness and life overall?
To demystify credit, and help you better understand your own, a new webinar series – “Building and Sustaining Great Credit – Understanding the 3 C’s” – is offered by Credit Counseling Center, a non-profit organization based in Bucks County that has provided financial counseling services to more than 100,000 individuals and families over the past 28 years.
Credit is a contractual agreement in which a borrower receives something of value immediately and agrees to pay for it later, usually with interest. Your credit score is a measure of factors that may affect your ability to repay credit. It’s a formula that takes into account how you’ve repaid previous loans, any outstanding debt, and your current salary.
In the webinars, you’ll learn about using credit in positive ways, establishing a good history, improving your credit score, and maximizing your creditworthiness – known in the banking industry as the 3 C’s of Credit: Character, Capacity, and Capital.
You can register for a session at www.creditcounselingcenter.org. Multiple dates are offered in September and October, including September 7 at 6 p.m.
After the webinar, you can opt to make an appointment with CCC’s counselors for a free Credit Assessment, which includes a Tri-Merge (Experian, TransUnion, & Equifax) Credit Report.
Credit Counseling Center is accredited by Council on Accreditation for Children & Family Services, Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Pennsylvania Finance Agency (PHFA), and is US Trustee Approved. CCC has three offices in Richboro, Doylestown, and Levittown, PA.
