There is a new event on the fall calendar in Bucks County! This year the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens tour, sponsored by the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown (VIA) and normally held in the spring, will take place from September 18th to October 16th.
Visitors will be able to tour Broadhurst after talented designers and landscapers reimagine this gracious Bucks County farmhouse dating to the late 1800s. Located on Holicong Road in Buckingham, the house has been seamlessly expanded over the years. It features six fireplaces, Venetian plaster walls and wide plank/random width pine floors throughout. With a grand living room, a magnificent library and a light-filled conservatory overlooking a bucolic six-acre property and pool, Broadhurst is ready to host both elegant gatherings and quiet family evenings.
The House will be open for tours daily from September 18th to October 16th. A gala celebrating the opening will be held on Saturday evening, September 17th. Admission to the house and grounds will be by timed tickets purchased in advance. For tickets or for more information about the gala, please visit www.bucks county designer house.org.
The Designer House & Gardens is the largest fundraiser held by the VIA, a non-profit women’s organization. Since its founding in 1895, the VIA has dedicated its efforts to improving the health and welfare of the Central Bucks community. It founded Doylestown Hospital in 1923 and continues to govern this nationally-recognized, award-winning healthcare system. Other VIA programs assist veterans and those in need, provide academic scholarships, and support the historic James-Lorah Memorial home in Doylestown, a house and museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Proceeds from Broadhurst will benefit the Interventional Radiology Program at Doylestown Hospital.
