    Local dancers living their dream!

Many little girls dream of being a ballerina or dancing star when they grow up. For two local young ladies, after many years of hard work and perseverance, this dream became a reality. Both young women spent years studying dance at Dance Arts of Yardley – one, with the pursuit of a career as a professional ballet dancer and the other setting her sights on making her college dance team, with the goal of eventually dancing professionally.

Marina Profy began dancing at Dance Arts of Yardley at the age of four, and at age 11 became one of the youngest Senior Company dancers in the history of the studio. Marina appeared in an episode of television’s “Dance Moms” competing against the show’s lead dancers, and placing ahead of the celebrity dancers in the overalls.

Shortly before graduating high school, Marina began attending the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia as a full-time dance and academic student. Marina then went on to dance professionally with The First State Ballet Company in Delaware.

Lauren Salley had different goals in mind. In her senior year with Dance Arts of Yardley, she auditioned for and made the Rutgers University Dance Team. Lauren has studied all forms of dance at Dance Arts of Yardley including ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary. Her well-rounded training gave her the edge against stiff competition at her college auditions. Lauren plans to dance professionally once her college degree is completed.

Dance Arts of Yardley Owner/Director, Melissa Zerbe says “At our studio, we strive to create an enriching experience no matter what the dancer’s goals are. Whether you are there to just have fun while learning, to make your college dance team or become a professional, we are able to meet those needs!”

Dance Arts of Yardley is now enrolling for fall classes. For more information and to enroll online, visit www.danceartsofyardley.com.
