Melissa Eiseman honored with Bucks Beautiful Leadership Award

Community beautification organization Bucks Beautiful has awarded its 2022 Leadership Award to Melissa Eiseman, president and principal of Eiseman Construction.

Melissa earned the award through her continual support of the mission of Bucks Beautiful, which is dedicated to enhancing the landscape of Bucks County with lush and distinctive gardens. The award was presented at Bucks Beautiful’s ninth annual Spring Fling Gala at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm.

“Melissa has been a highly regarded board member since 2013,” said Gary Mathern, Board President of Bucks Beautiful. “She has worked closely with Bucks Beautiful to develop community gardens throughout Bucks County. Melissa’s inspiration led to the creation of the Phil Eiseman Memorial Garden gracing the entrance of the YMCA in Doylestown. She continues to sponsor this community gathering place with seasonal plantings. Melissa has also been instrumental in establishing the annual Spring Fling Gala, one of our most important fundraisers.”

The founder of Eiseman Construction, Phil Eiseman, shepherded the company for 47 years before his passing in 2015. The idea to create a garden in his memory was embraced by many of his friends and supporters, Melissa said. A fundraising evening featuring food trucks was held at the YMCA, where Phil had served as a dedicated member of the board of directors.

The money raised helped to fund the creation of the garden, and Gale Nurseries brought the project to life by handling the installation, Melissa said. Since then, Eiseman Construction has maintained the garden in Phil’s honor.

“Phil was passionate about the mission of the YMCA,” Melissa said. “Memorializing his legacy with a garden that everyone can enjoy when they visit the Y fit in nicely with our support of Bucks Beautiful. I’m honored to accept the leadership award from Bucks Beautiful and invite others to join us in our quest to make Bucks County an even more beautiful place.”
