Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are invited to register for the GriefShare program being held at Fallsington United Methodist Church each Tuesday evening at 7:00pm beginning September 13th and running through December 13th. This nondenominational program features Christ-centered teaching focusing on various grief topics. You’ll discover how to face your new normal and renew hope for the future.
There are three key parts to the GriefShare experience each week: a video; small group discussion; and a workbook with personal study exercises that reinforce the weekly session topics. Leading this GriefShare group are caring people who have experienced grief and understand how grief recovery is a painful process. They also know how helpful the GriefShare information and follow-up discussions can be to help rebuild lives.
Each session is “self-contained,” so participants are welcome to begin at any point within the 13-week program. Additionally, two special sessions will be offered to address specific topics:
- Loss of a Spouse: Tuesday, August 23rd, 7:00 – 9:00pm. This seminar is for widows and widowers and features a video with practical, encouraging advice, followed by small group sharing time. You’ll learn what to expect in the days ahead, how to handle the loneliness, and how to find the strength to go on. Registration is free: griefshare.org/loss/events/5453.
- Surviving the Holidays: Tuesday, November 8th, 7:00 – 9:00pm. The holidays can be difficult for those grieving the loss of a loved one. This seminar is filled with inspiration and tips to provide peace and comfort to navigate the holiday season and other occasions once shared with a departed loved one. Registration is free: griefshare.org/holidays/events/41419.
