Swing into summer at the Northampton Twp. Library

There is slight change to the library hours for the summer.  They will not be open on Sundays for the summer, reopening on September 11th, 2022 at 1:00pm.

The Second Saturday program sponsored by the Friends of the Free Library of Northampton Township continues on July 9th as Fred Miller entertains with a Lecture in Song about Judy Garland.

Fred is a pianist, singer, and lecturer with experience in many musical fields including grand opera, musical comedy, and classical piano.

Fred has been a favorite performer at the library for many years.

The Summer Quest Reading Program, “Oceans of Possibilities,” is in full swing.

Children should continue reading and logging their time to earn prizes.

Last year our paper chain in the Children’s area represented 135,000 minutes of reading time.

Visit often and watch the paper chain grow.

“Read to the Dogs,” featuring the therapy dogs from Nor’wester Therapy, will be in the library at 1:00pm each Thursday, July 7th through July 28th.

There will be story times for various age groups.

One of the unique things about the library is that they feature a local artist each month.

They display their work on the “Artist Wall” and in a showcase.

This year they have had exhibits of photographs and vintage post cards.

Watercolor is the medium for the featured artist this month. In the coming months, they will feature artists who work with pastels and oils.

Later this year you can see images created with plaster castings using both natural materials and man-made materials.

Most of the artists offer some of their artwork for sale.

The library receives a donation of a small portion of any sales.
