Redeemer Lutheran Church is often known as “the church with the sign,” but a brief sign message, seen in a few seconds as people drive by, couldn’t possibley tell all of who we are.

Redeemer is a welcoming community that cares deeply about the needs of the people around us. Our mission is summed up as: Connecting God’s People by Spreading God’s love in Gathering, Learning and Serving. We invite everyone to be a part of our community and join with us in communion, worship, and fellowship activities throughout the church year. If you ask anyone who comes to the church for our activities and events, they will tell you they are here because they enjoy the people, the worship, and the chance to serve and learn.

We began our ministry in 1958 in the old Hartsville firehouse, built our church on the current property in 1961, and expanded into our new sanctuary space in 1993. Our congregation has parishioners who have been here since the beginning and receive new parishioners every year who want to be a part of the work we are doing in Warwick and around the world.

As part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the largest Lutheran denomination in the country, we believe that God’s grace is at the center of our relationship with God and with each other.
