In one of his first public events as Bucks County Recorder of Deeds, Dan McPhillips was excited to participate with his staff at the Big Brothers Big Sisters “Bowl for Kids’ Sake.” Due to unforeseen circumstances this event did not go on as planned. That did not stop the Recorder of Deeds office from raising almost $2,000.
Dan, who serves on the board for Big Brothers Big Sisters, was impressed by his staff’s dedication to an organization that is so important to him. He said, “Big Brothers Big Sisters plays an important role for our youth in our community. I have had the pleasure of being a part of the board for four years. I am proud and excited to present Big Brothers Big Sisters with this check. A big thank you goes to my office staff who worked really hard to help raise money for this important cause.” Besides asking the public for donations toward the hall of pins, there was also a “by donation only” bake sale that included the chance to win raffle baskets.
The staff, while disappointed to not bowl, was excited to present Rob Peterman, Marketing & Events Manager for Big Brothers Bigs Sisters of Bucks County, with the monies raised. Rob said, “Our organization has endured challenging times as a result of the pandemic. Despite all of the changes and uncertainty, one thing has remained constant, and that’s the support from Dan, Denise and their team. Thanks to them, we are still able to make a positive impact on the youth that we serve in our community.”
