Attend a pre-launch event for Dr. Nico de Klerk’s new book, “No Fit: My 1700 Mile Walk from Apartheid,” on Friday, July 22nd, 7:00pm, at Yardley Quaker Meeting, 65 N. Main Street, Yardley.
The book is de Klerk’s story of his journey from Pretoria to Cape Town, where he talked with youth and the unemployed in over 100 black communities isolated in poverty and struggling under the legacy of apartheid. The walk inspired the Be a Nelson movement to empower, train, network, and support the countless informal leaders Nico met.
De Klerk will be interviewed by Yvette Taylor-Hachoose, Esq. and host of “What’s Your Legacy” podcasts, and Nancy Schongalla, founder of the sponsoring non-profit, Adopt a South African Preschool.
Come for dessert, music, and fun!
