Morrisville Free Library riding waves of summer fun!

Join us at Morrisville Free Library for our Kickoff Summer Fun Party on Saturday, June 18th, 11:00am to 2:00pm. Registration (small prizes will be given to the first 50 children who register), and balloon twisting with Alia’s Wow Balloons, from 11:00am to 12:30pm; Free books from Cops N Kids plus ‘Meet a Mermaid Princess’, from noon to 1:00pm.

Story Time (for Preschoolers) is on Tuesdays, 11:00 to 11:30am, starting June 21st.

Waves Of Creativity Crafting – Wednesdays (June 22nd, 29th and July 6th, 13th, 20th), 1:00-2:00pm. Drop-in for ocean inspired crafts – coloring books will be provided for younger children. Recommended for ages 5 and up.    

Saving The Seas with Swedes – Thursday, June 23rd at 10:00am (for ages 6-12; not recommended for preschoolers). Learn about the effects of pollution and climate change on the seas and what we can do to help! Also, STEAM activities and a take-home recycled craft.

Oceans Of Possibilities: A Virtual Program hosted by the Center for Aquatic Sciences – Adventure Aquarium on Thursday, June 23rd at 7:00pm.

Dive into the world of oceans with the center for aquatic sciences.  learn about unique creatures that call the ocean home. You must register for the Zoom link at Library calendar – space is limited!

‘The Magic of Sharks’ with Steven Woyce – Thursday, June 30th, at 10:00am (for children of all ages).

This family magic show will feature a boatload of fun shark facts, jokes and routines! 

Talewise Science Show – Pirates Lost at Sea! on Thursday, July 7th at 10:00am (for children of all ages)!

Ahoy there, matey! Don’t miss your chance to experience this interactive nautical tale – with a splash of science!

Sea Turtle Virtual Art Workshop on Thursday, July 14th at 7:00pm (suggested age range 5 and up).

Local artist Anita Martino will show participants how to use watercolor and black marker to create a silhouette of a sea turtle (please supply your own watercolors and marker). Please register for the Zoom link at library calendar.

Ancient Undersea Reptile Show and Dig Workshop on Thursday, July 21st at 10:00am.

Paleontologists Mike and Roberta Straka will take us on a scientific exploration highlighting the world of undersea creatures that lived in the time of the dinosaurs! The dig workshop is 15 minutes long following the fossil talk.

Participants will dig in a sand tray filled with real dinosaur bones and fossils!

Summer Fun Raffle

Raffle tickets will be given out when you register, when you check out a book and when you attend a program. You can place your ticket in the box that corresponds with the prize you would like to win.

The summer fun raffle prizes will be drawn on Thursday, July 28th. Winners will be called and posted on the library Facebook page. Be sure to follow the Library for updates!

All scheduled non-virtual programs will take place downstairs at the library, 300 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville.
