Join the fun at Tyler Park Center for the Arts Summer Camps!

Individual art intensive weeks for aspiring your artists ages 8 to 16.

The newly renovated and fully air-conditioned historic barn provides the perfect space to foster creativity in your child. The sun filters through the large picture windows, welcoming in the natural world for inspiration.

Three different weeks are offered, each with a different theme. Camp will run from 9:30am to 3:00pm with a 30-minute break for a bagged lunch (no food provided).

Morning offerings will include a different focus each day in line with the themes of each week. The afternoons will allow for “playing with clay.” Campers will explore wheel throwing, hand building and glazing in the pottery studio and exploration of the large-scale sculpture garden.

Week 1: Keeping it Real – creating from real life will run from July 11th – 15th. Includes still life acrylic painting on canvas, self-portraits in charcoal, and figure drawings in pencil. Afternoons will include wheel throwing and creating realistic animal sculptures with clay.

Week 2: Art in Nature will run from August 1st – 5th. Includes floral acrylic painting on canvas, leaf pattern batik fabric dying, and macrame wall hanging on branches. In the afternoons campers will make succulent flowerpot sets and outdoor windchimes with clay.

Week 3: Food, Cooking & Crafts will run from August 22nd – 26th. Campers will learn cupcake decorating techniques, gummy bear making, hand painted aprons, and fruit acrylic still life on canvas. Afternoon include making dessert teapot & dish sets, and garden herb markers.
