The Ivins Outreach Center pivots to serve the community during the pandemic

The Ivins Outreach Center is a non-profit organization that strives every day to improve the quality of life for those within our neighboring communities with opportunities to be healthy, confident, connected, and secure, regardless of age, income, or background.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ivins Outreach Center pivoted its services and reached out to even more youth, families, and seniors in need.

Just as the pandemic created challenges, it also created opportunities to grow our services, partner with new organizations, and substantially increase our volunteers.

We evaluated our services, listened to our community, and took action to feed hungry children, families, disabled adults, and seniors.

Over the past year, we pulled together to care for our neighbors and were joined by over 200 volunteers who delivered meals, provided seniors with transportation to medical appointments, and grocery shopped for those unable. Hot meals were delivered weekly to seniors and families. We provided families with weekly food boxes and connected them to the United Way Donation Center to receive free household items, school supplies, and personal protective equipment.

With the support of Toys for Tots, organizations, individuals, churches, businesses, and first responders, our Giving Tree program provided gifts, toys, and gifts cards to 679 children.

A special thank you to Mike DiNardo, President of Shades of Green Inc., who generously provided space for our program and the United Way who donated gifts cards for teens.

Virtual and in-person academic support programs were provided in our 21st Century Grant after-school programs in the school districts of Bristol Borough, Morrisville, Bensalem, and Bucks County Technical High School. Students and their families were provided with weekly hot meals
