Miracle League of Northampton successfully raised funds to complete the construction of a fully accessible baseball field and multi-purpose field in Northampton Township that opened in 2012, which now serves as the home of their cornerstone baseball program.
Their programs include:
*Softball/Baseball – The baseball season runs from April to June at the Northampton Township Municipal Park in Churchville. Games take place on the specially designed baseball field, which provides access for those with physical and developmental disabilities. Each year, they cap off the season with a weekend-long baseball festival held at the George School. This event includes the opportunity for members to stay at the school overnight in the dorms, allowing them to enjoy the comradery of their friends and teammates while further developing their independence away from home.
*Basketball – Operates on Mondays, from November through March, at Welch Elementary School.
*Bowling – Operates on Saturdays, from September through March, at Thunderbird Lanes in Warminster.
*Soccer – In partnership with CRUSA (Council Rock United Soccer Association), the soccer program is offered for six weeks in September and October on the Miracle League Turf field at the Northampton Township Municipal Park in Churchville.
In addition to their athletic programs, they often provide social events for members as well as a resource/information fair for families to explore opportunities and support for their disabled loved ones.
Miracle League of Northampton is currently engaged in a journey with Northampton Township to make improvements to the already-popular playground at the Municipal Park that will welcome children and families of all abilities to learn, play and grow together. The project is on schedule to be completed this Spring.
