Soroptimist is a global women’s volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training needed to achieve economic empowerment.
Soroptimist International of Indian Rock, Inc. (SIIR) club members, from Bucks and Montgomery counties, empower local women and girls who have faced or are at risk of facing poverty; homelessness; human trafficking; or domestic, sexual or substance abuse by providing them with resources to improve their educational and employment opportunities.
This is done through club programs such as Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls, which will occur on March 12th, 2022; Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women; the Ginny Cooper Live Your Dream Award; Annual High School Senior Scholarships; Share a Dream Baskets; and Helping Hand Emergency Fund. To fund these programs SIIR hosts annual events in April and November such as Designer Bag Bingo.
Club members meet the first Wednesday of each month (except February, July, August and November) for dinner and a program at the Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland.
Women who are interested in attending dinner meetings or joining club membership are welcome and may contact: firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, visit the club website at www.investindreams.org.
SIIR is one of 1,300 Soroptimist clubs in 21 countries and territories that empower women and girls through a variety of volunteer projects.
Efforts include cash grants for education, hands-on efforts to end domestic violence, career mentoring for girls, women’s health initiatives, and many other community-based projects. For more information, visit investindreams.org.
