If you plan to sell in 2022 you may think it is wise to wait for the spring; traditionally 40% of home sales occur between April and June.
Not the case anymore! This year will be much different – Buyers are still very active and we still are experiencing low inventory.
This November’s buyers showing numbers were much higher than the three years prior to the pandemic.
Keep in mind other Sellers plan to list earlier this year due to the high demand in our area and low supply.
Take advantage of the strong demand when there is less competition.
New construction will be more competition as we get into 2022. Building permits are up and things have been slowed with the labor shortage and supply chain issues, however these new homes will be built this year and will be competition!
Consider the low interest rates if you are financing your new home. When rates rise which they are expected to do in 2022, it costs you more in down payment and mortgage payment.
To sum it up – if it’s just time or if the pandemic caused you to rethink your housing situation be it gaining more living, work or outdoor space, to downsize or to move closer to family, do get the process going to list your home sooner rather than later.
