Family Service golf outing raises funds and awards service

A little bit of rain did not dampen the spirits or generosity of 111 golfers, who spent a day on the links, supporting the 22nd Annual Family Service Association of Bucks County Drive for Youth Golf Outing, which recently took place at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope.

The event raised more than $84,500 to support the vital health and human service programs that are provided to the community by Family Service.

The fundraiser also honored its youngest supporter, 10-year-old Bensalem resident Grace McCarthy.

During the past year, Grace, a Girl Scout, led several charitable initiatives that made a difference in the lives of many local children and families in need.

She was presented with The Susan N. Altomari Champion for Youth Award by Family Service CEO Julie Dees. “Grace’s care for others, and her determination to help, has inspired all of us at Family Service,” said Julie. “Thank you, Grace, for making a lasting, positive impact on those we serve.”

Those in attendance enjoyed lunch, several in-game contests, a raffle and silent auction.
