The Washington Crossing Chapter Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) recognized two of it’s officers with the Roger Sherman award. Second Vice President Gordon Todderud was presented the Roger Sherman medal and certificate for serving as the Chapter’s Second Vice President for the last three years and the Eagle Scout chairman for four years. Gordon is the representative with the Bucks County Boy Scout Council. He has worked with local Eagle scouts to enter the Pennsylvania Society Sons of the American Revolution Eagle Scout Scholarship Competition. Gordon has also served the Chapter by securing reservations with local businesses for the chapter’s two annual dinner meetings. Secretary Timothy Ghebles was also presented the Roger Sherman medal and certificate for serving as the chapter’s secretary for the last three years. He has maintained communication with members, prospective members, and friends of the Chapter. Compatriot Ghebles designed a program template that he has used for the Chapter’s dinner meeting programs. He also worked with the Chapter President to make announcements about chapter activities to the State and National SAR and to local media.
The photo was taken before the Emanuel Leutze painting of Washington Crossing the Delaware at the Washington Crossing Historic Park in Washington Crossing, PA.
