Friends Village is an intentional community for seniors across two beautiful campuses in historic Newtown.
We’re led by two important foundations: our years of experience and knowledge in the science and practice of healthy aging, and our Quaker values of simplicity, inclusion, dignity, and purposeful living.
This year, our board adopted new mission and vision statements. These new statements reflect recent research on positive aging which, happily, is in alignment with our strengths as a community.
Our new Mission is: “To foster purposeful living and social connectivity through a community of kindness.”
Our new Vision is, “To be a supportive and kind community that welcomes adults of diverse backgrounds where all members thrive and live enriched and purposeful lives.”
Research is clear that our social environment and our engagement with life are key contributors to our well-being. Daily social interactions and a network of supportive relationships are important to maintaining cognitive, physical and emotional health.
Our team strives to create a loving, supportive environment our residents.
Last year, we persevered during the most uncertain days of the pandemic to keep our community safe and ensure that residents had what they needed to see them through those anxious times.
As a result of that effort, we had NO cases of COVID among residents.
Today, our new mission speaks to the commitment to not only provide a safe home, but also to make our Friends Village an environment that helps you thrive.
Through a spirit of community, and by practicing kindness, we work to provide you the support to age positively.
