Who are the Friends of Lake Afton (FOLA)?
FOLA is a nonprofit organization made up of local residents who are committed to preserving Lake Afton and its surrounding areas for all in the community to enjoy, since 1969.
Like many in our community, FOLA considers Lake Afton Yardley’s “town jewel” and one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in the country.
On any given day at Lake Afton, you’ll find couples, friends, families, artists, ice skaters and even wedding parties.
People come to relax, feed the ducks or enjoy fishing. But none of that is possible without a healthy, clean and safe environment, which takes ongoing work and organized management. And it’s shown with how nice the lake looks over the past few years.
In fact, the reason Lake Afton is looking so great is due to the generous support from people all throughout our community for FOLA.
Recent efforts to manage Lake Afton include disciplined biological treatments of the water (since 2015), maintenance of trees and brush, community “clean-up” events, and just about whatever else it takes to keep Lake Afton healthy for all to enjoy.
The support of the people in our community has never been more important. Financial assistance is extremely appreciated to help fund FOLA’s volunteer efforts, where annual expenses average around $20,000.
Your donations are essential to allow the volunteers at FOLA keep Yardley’s town jewel pristine throughout four seasons.
Donations can be made via donate button on our website (www.lakeafton.org), FB page, PayPal (Friends of Lake Afton), Venmo (FOLA Yardley) or by placing a check in the mail (FOLA/P.O. Box 529/Yardley, PA 19067).
Thank you for your continued support!
