A major part of the mission of the League of Women Voters is to educate voters about candidates in federal, state and local races.
This year the League of Women Voters of Bucks County is holding two candidate forums. The first is for the two candidates vying for the office of Bucks County District Attorney: incumbent District Attorney Matt Weintrab and Antonetta Stancu. It will be held on Monday, October 18th from 7:00 to 8:30pm.
The second is for the two candidates competing to fill a judicial vacancy on the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas: Tiffany Thomas-Smith and Stephen Corr. It will be held on Tuesday, October 19th from 7:00 to 8:30pm.
Each forum will be conducted by a trained league moderator. Candidates, moderators and some members of the press will meet in person, (respecting CDC guidelines). Due to ongoing COVID concerns, there will be no live audience at either of these forums. The forums will be live-streamed on Facebook and will be recorded and posted, unedited, online on the League of Women Voters of Bucks County’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
While it will not be possible for the public to submit questions live during the forum, the League is inviting the public to submit questions for the candidates ahead of time. The League cannot guarantee that your question will be asked but will read all the questions submitted for possible use. Information about how to submit questions for both forums will be available at www.lwvbucks.org.
All candidate-provided information will be up on the voters’ guide at Vote411.org. All candidates have been invited to provide information and upload it themselves.
