    Unwind the mind: How to incorporate mindfulness into your daily routine

    Have you been feeling like you need a solution to unravel all the hamster-wheel thoughts racing through your head?

    Struggling to quiet your mind to sleep no matter how many sheep you count?

    I’ve found a huge amount of personal relief when I practice mindfulness and incorporate a daily meditation routine.

    Easier said than done, and it’s different for everyone.

    Before I started my routine, I had the belief there wasn’t time in my day for such things, but I quickly realized my day feels incomplete without a minimum of 15 minutes silent meditation.

    It helps me to ground, quiet racing thoughts, and find my center.

    If you find it hard to sit in the silence, a guided meditation on YouTube might be a great option to help get you in the zone.

    The key is to learn how to tune in to what your body needs. Beyond that, what does your mind need in this moment? A quiet moment to rest?

    Mindfulness focuses on the idea of living in the moment; shedding obsessive thoughts of the past or future to step fully into the present.

    Picture your mind as a tranquil lake, and the thoughts which rush by to disturb it as distant ripples. Or a rushing stream, and each thought that appears becomes a leaf flowing away.

    There are many mindfulness techniques such as this visualization that can help calm a hectic mind into a state of serenity.

    One thing the pandemic has taught me is to care for myself on deeper levels. Not just my mental health (which has always been a top priority), but my physical health and my spiritual health, on a deeper level.

    As a being of vibration, we are a triad: mind, body and soul.

    We can find a place of calm centeredness when we recognize the power that lies within our very existence.
