When people learn that I am the Northampton Township Tax Collector, they often assume that I am employed by the Township, and they do not realize that I serve residents as an elected official. On an annual basis, I am responsible for collecting over $104 million dollars. My tax office issues timely tax bills and is subject to audits certifying that every dollar collected is accounted for and timely paid to the taxing authorities (i.e. county, township and school district).
As the Township’s Tax Collector, I am entrusted with providing efficient, accurate and professional tax information and services to our taxpayers. I serve in this role on a full-time basis, and even during the pandemic my office remained accessible to the public with appropriate COVID-19 safety precautions.
What I enjoy most about being the Tax Collector is interacting with Township residents by personally handling tax issues. There are occasions when a “homebound” senior or disabled resident requires in-person assistance and cannot come to my office or communicate effectively by telephone. On those occasions, I have no hesitation in making a “house call” to help that individual process his or her tax payment. Timely, professional service is paramount.
In addition to serving as the current Tax Collector, I am a life-long resident of Bucks County who has resided in the Township for nearly 30 years. I have a lengthy history of community service as a former Township Supervisor and through my affiliation as a volunteer for numerous non-profit organizations. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, I earned my college degree at St. Joseph’s University, where I met my wife of 31 years, Grace. Our daughter, Aubrey, a Council Rock graduate, is a first year student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
