Spotlight: Bucks County Singers (BCS)

Seeking new members

The Newtown-based Bucks County Singers (BCS), who have been in existence for 35 years, are looking for new members.

Under the direction of Terry Boyle Greenland, of Yardley, Adjunct Professor at University of the Arts, and Accompanist Marilyn Clark, of Holland, members of the BCS embrace the chorus’s unique style, which blends singing with fun-to-watch “riser choreography,” making for concerts that are unlike those of most other choirs.

The BCS perform at least 10 concerts a year from September to May.

The choir performs a very eclectic mix of music which appeals to a large range of musical tastes, including standards, show tunes, patriotic pieces, pop, and more. During the holiday season, the choir dons Victorian-era garb and performs throughout the region.  BCS also hosts an annual choral festival in November called “Voices of Bucks” and a Fashion Show fundraiser in the Spring – both quite popular with local fans.

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday night from 7:30 to 9:30pm at New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Drive, Newtown, PA 18940.

Men & Women in all voice parts are eagerly welcomed and no audition is required.

The Bucks County Singers are happy to be singing again at the Irish Horne Bar & Restaurant in Richboro on October 22nd at 7:00pm and also on December 17th at 7:00pm.

All are welcome!

The Singers will also be performing at Peddlers’ Village annual Grand Illumination Celebration on the night of November 19th in their Victorian-era garb.
