Pennsylvania’s Delaware Canal Towpath Closure In Area of Scudder Falls Toll Bridge Extended to Oct. 15

Allowing for Construction of Pedestrian Bridge over the Canal

The closure of Pennsylvania’s Delaware Canal towpath in the vicinity of the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge has been extended an additional week to allow for continuing construction of a pedestrian bridge over the canal.

This uninterrupted towpath closure is rescheduled to end on or about October 15.

When completed, the new pedestrian bridge will provide a safe connection between the towpath and the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s 1799 House trailhead area and nearby park-and-ride lot off Woodside Road in Lower Makefield, PA.

This link will be integral once all construction on the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge’s shared-use pedestrian/bicycle facility is completed sometime in November.

More information on the Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project is available at www.scudderfallsbridge.com.
