Marijane Meckling, a member of the Bucks County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, recently hooked up with Bobbi Speller to deliver over 100 hand-knitted winter hats.
Bobbi and her husband, Eddie, are the local directors of Stand Down, an all-volunteer organization manned by active and retired military personnel.
Their mission is to provide services to our local homeless veterans.
Once a year after Labor Day they organize the event and bring everyone together.
While the Veterans Administration provides medical care, other military and non-military vendors pitch in to provide housing information, education and when appropriate, job training.
The Bucks County Chapter of the DAR provided hand-knitted hats from their members and local women who contributed their time to knit the hats.
