Doylestown resident Meryl Russo is the founder of “one warm scarf,” an organization that reaches out each year to our homeless neighbors during the cold autumn and winter months.
“Our mission is to provide warm scarves to homeless men in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Last year our volunteers gave generously of their time and donated over 400 scarves to those in need.”
The organization is in need of volunteers to knit or crochet warm scarves. They will also be collecting clean, gently-used men’s scarves.
This year they will be donating scarves to the following organizations: the Allentown Rescue Mission, Saint John’s Hospice Homeless Shelter for Men and the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission.
Their goal is to exceed last year’s donations and provide warmth for many more homeless men in need.
They hope residents in Bucks County will spread the word to family, friends and neighbors to support this worthy cause.
