I always get asked the question, when is the best time to sell my home?
And I always answer that spring is the first-time best time to sell and the second-best time to sell is the fall.
So, the question is at what point in the fall do you list your home?
The answer to that is right after Labor Day! Now obviously the day after Labor Day is not the fall, but it is the fall market in real estate.
By this time everybody is done with vacations, kids are back in school, and everybody is in their normal routine in life. All these things make it a great time to list your home.
Traditionally July and August are slow times in real estate. But with the pandemic going on, things did not really slow down that much during the summer.
I did see that this summer was slower when compared to last summer. This tells me that the market is now regulating to what it was before to a certain degree.
Yes, there is still a shortage of homes for sale making it an aggressive sellers’ market! The mortgage rates have crept up a little bit, but are still at a rate that makes it very affordable for buyers to obtain a mortgage.
So, if you are thinking about selling your home and do not want to wait until the spring market, now is the time to list and get top dollar!
