Instead of discussing a current dental issue, this month’s article describes a local charitable foundation that is near and dear to the Bucks County Dental Design family.
My name is Christen Parzych, and I am the president of the Daniel J. Parzych Memorial Fund.
The DJP Memorial Fund is a 501(c)3 organization founded for my brother Dan, who was killed in a senseless act of violence in Yardley last year.
Dan was a local guy. He grew up in Richboro, attended Council Rock schools, and married the love of his life, a Jamison girl introduced to him by his best friend. Dan treated everyone like family, and his best buds were still the boys from the neighborhood he met at three-years-old. He was the go-to guy for airport pickups, emergency childcare, or life advice. He was everyone’s friend and everyone’s favorite guy.
At the DJP Memorial Fund, we encourage each other and those around us to ‘live like Dan.’ Dan believed in doing small acts of kindness with great love. To this day we still are learning a little bit more about the things he did and the people he impacted. We started this fund to not only honor Dan’s memory, but to also continue the spirit in which he lived.
We center our outreach around four areas that were of great importance to Dan – sports, animals, family and community. Because of the generosity of our donors, we’ve been able to make meaningful differences in our local and national communities since our founding.
We invite you to join us in a spirit of celebration and service for our biggest event yet.
The DJP Fund Fall Festival will occur Sunday, October 10th at Graeme Park in Horsham. A combination of fundraiser and celebration of Dan’s life, the festival will feature kids’ activities, a beer garden, raffle baskets, and a silent auction.
Thank you for your time, and I hope to see you in October.
Live like Dan.
