Dance Arts of Yardley is entering its 22nd year of instructing local youth in the art of dance. The studio serves dancers age three through adulthood and has grown to include six competitive dance teams, a youth ballet company, and numerous classes in all forms of dance including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, preschool creative dance and more.
The studio features mature and experienced teachers–many of whom are mothers of youngsters themselves–along with the owner Melissa Profy, whose own daughter is now a professional ballet dancer and dance instructor! The teachers’ children range in age from newborn to mid-twenties.
With the experience of being mothers themselves, these teachers share an interest in making a dancer’s first experience the best it can be, then carrying through with exceptional training as dancers grow and develop.
“We want the introduction to dance to be a magical experience, and we want to share our love of dance as we have shared it with our own children. We also understand the struggles of young families these days, and we strive to create class schedules that work for busy families”, says studio owner, Melissa Profy.
“We offer a variety of classes after 5:00pm for working parents. We also offer sibling-paired classes: classes that run at the same time for different age groups so older and younger siblings dance in the studio at the same time. Additionally, we schedule complimentary classes back-to-back to cut down on time driving dancers to the studio.”
