CBOI is a modern conservative synagogue located in Newtown that serves Bucks and Mercer Counties. It is a growing and inclusive egalitarian congregation that enriches and enjoys Jewish life together.
From Friday night and Saturday morning services, to lively discussions and interesting programs and speakers presented by Men’s Club, to Sisterhood book reviews, Adult Education programs, the weekly Talmud class, the Jewish Book Council book reviews with each author, and outstanding religious school instruction for our children. Several safety guidelines have been taken to ensure re-opening in the safest way.
We now have in person as well as on- line services to accommodate members who cannot be there in person.
CBOI is also holding High Holiday services in the sanctuary as well as on Zoom this year.
Tashlich services, where Jews symbolically cast off the sins of the previous year into flowing water are held at the Gan Mayim (a beautiful and contemplative stream) on the CBOI property.
The Rabbi Howard Hersch Religious School at CBOI offers outstanding and affordable Jewish education to our children. The annual school tuition is $360 per child (K-10). Students continue to benefit from weekly virtual classes, and Sunday in person classes, as well as individual tutoring for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students. In addition, we offer regular pre-school Shabbat programming.
We are always ready to adapt to our environment. The COVID pandemic may have kept us physically apart, but we remained socially together.
We recognize the power of our new online community that we created during this pandemic because it has allowed people who are ill or unable to be with us in person to continue to be involved.
