Brownie Troop 2542 donates Little Free Library to Silver Lake in Yardley

Over the past year many families in the Chester Meadow section spent a lot of time walking the neighborhood during quarantine.

Members of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania Troop 2542 noticed many neighbors putting books out on their curbs to share with others.

This inspired the idea of donating a Little Free Library to the community. The girls wanted to use profits from cookie sales towards purchasing and decorating the Library.

It is a great addition to Chester Meadow for anyone to utilize while visiting the lake. The motto is “Take a Book, Share a Book” and the Brownie troop is encouraging everyone to participate and read!

They dedicated the Library on June 5th with the support from Makefield Lakes Community Association board member, Chuck Schaeffer.
