In order to support our most vulnerable residents of Bucks County, Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC) is making home deliveries of emergency food boxes to those who cannot safely leave their homes.
These are intended for people who are extremely vulnerable to COVID-19, and unable to visit a food pantry, Fresh Connect, or grocery stores; the priority is to deliver to seniors and/or people with disabilities. You must reside in Bucks County to be eligible for delivery.
Volunteers help us #feedourcommunity at our HELP Center, and by making deliveries of food to those who cannot do so on their own.
Review the dates, times and LOCATIONS of the opportunities here.
If delivering food boxes, you should have a vehicle that can hold up to 10 boxes (file-box sized), and be able to lift and carry them from your car to an apartment on a different floor if necessary. The times listed are approximate. It can take from 2-3 hours to make the deliveries, depending on how many we have, and how spread out the homes are.
An automatic reminder will be sent to you a day or two prior to your event. You must provide a volunteer application, and a copy of your driver’s license and insurance to make home deliveries.
If you are delivering food boxes, you will receive an email with the delivery list the day before, print it, and have recipents sign for thier boxes, and return the completed sheet to us electroncially. You will be calling each person to let them know you are on your way. In most cases, you leave the box there if they do not answer. Any other details will be provided with the list.
Thank you for all you do to make our community a better place!
Anyone in Bucks County can apply for a home-delivered food box, or complete the application for a friend or neighbor. Application deadline is midnight Saturday each week, for delivery the following week.
Due to demand, completing this form is not a guarantee of delivery. We will be fulfilling orders on a first-come, first-served basis.
You will receive an email confirmation when your application is received, and you will be placed in a queue for delivery on the next available day. Deliveries will be made on Wednesdays and Thursdays only. The driver will call you when en route to your location.
If you can safely leave your home, we ask that you visit our Fresh Connect food distributions in your area, and/or a food pantry.
