Historic Hilltown June program

The Historical Society of Hilltown Township will hold its Sunday Open House on June 13th, from 1:30-4:00pm, at the c1800s Strassburger Farmstead, 407 Keystone Drive and Bethlehem Pike, Sellersville.

The Open House will feature speaker Mike Jesberger and his presentation of “Life of a Civil War Soldier and Life at Home” at 2:00pm.

Mike will share his knowledge about how Civil War soldiers lived – a very hard life.

Death could happen in combat, by disease and by accidental injuries. What was the daily routine of soldiers?

Most of a soldier’s life entailed non-combat activities. This interactive presentation will include visuals and artifacts.

The Strassburger Farmstead will be open for viewing. It was a Civil War-era stop for travelers going between Philadelphia and Bethlehem/Allentown.

The home and barn have displays of mid-19th century domestic and farm life.

Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.  A mask is required for admission.
