Spotlight: Artists of Yardley

‘Our Towns Through Artists’ Eyes’ theme of multiple Plein Air events in June

AOY Art Center is celebrating the Historic Towns of Yardley and Newtown with a community-wide Plein Air event entitled “Out Towns Through Artists’ Eyes.”

Fifty-five local and regional plein air artists will be out to Paint Our Towns culminating in a unique exhibition from May 29th through June 13th in AOY Art Center’s Gallery showcasing the best of the best of our towns.

The gallery will be open from noon to 5:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and hosted by participating artists. Free and open to the public. All artwork will also be shown online at aoyartcenter.org 24/7 and available for purchase.

The artists were spotted at different locations around the two towns from May 14th-27th and the community is invited to share photos of them at work. Post them with the hashtag #AOYPleinAir and #ExploreBucksCo. This will create a community photo album where everyone can participate and enjoy!

Want to learn how to paint “en plein air?” Nationally recognized plein air artist and lecturer Joe Gyurcsak is hosting a long weekend workshop at AOY Art Center June 18th to 20th. In this workshop you will learn how to see and paint with more confidence, how to create wonderfully energized plein air paintings which capture the unique light and atmosphere the artist envisioned from the moment of their inspiration. All levels are welcome. More information and registration available at aoyartcenter.org.

Throughout the summer months, AOY members will be doing plein air. To be a part of the group, join us! Just go to the website!

AOY Art Center is a not-for-profit art center celebrating 11 years promoting the arts and art education in our community.
